Workshop at the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation's conference in Kigali

Making eDNA sampling more accessible, and build connections with researchers and practitioners

It was an absolute pleasure to run a workshop at the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation's (ATBC) annual conference in Kigali. The event provided a fantastic platform for engaging with a diverse group of researchers and conservation practitioners from around the world.

Our primary aim was to make eDNA sampling techniques more accessible, particularly for those working in tropical and remote environments where traditional monitoring methods can be challenging or resource-intensive.

We focused on exploring alterative ways to collect eDNA, while highlighting its potential to transform biodiversity monitoring in regions with limited infrastructure.

The workshop was such a success due to the enthusiasm of the participants, and we are thrilled to be connected with eDNA researchers from around the world.

Events like this reinforce the value of sharing knowledge and building collaborative networks. More workshops like this are certainly on the horizon!
